“I was supposed to die in prison” Troy’s Story, Part 1 [Video]

The video we’re sharing with you today is, quite simply, one of the most amazing stories we have ever shared. It features Troy, who was initially sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Please feel free to share Troy’s story with others. And by all means, invite your friends to our website:  https://lightinprison.sharethepractice.org/ where they can learn of the prison ministry work done by Christian Science chaplains throughout the State.

Look forward to part 2, and how he deals with his past, specifically with the situation that landed him in prison, including the loss of life he referenced.

Love Troy’s story (albeit just Part 1…)! A beautiful example of Romans 12:2. Looking forward to Part 2!

Having taught 5th grade briefly in south central LA following the Watts Riots (the Draft and Vietnam soon removed me from those duties), I am grateful for Troy’s courage but also for his obvious intelligence. Age promotion policy of LA Unified put non-readers into my classroom. Hard to reach them at that late point with a class of 30 students. They needed one-on-one tutoring. Troy obviously picked some foundational tools – maybe that grandmother helped! Looking forward to Part II.
