When an angry and violent inmate had to be physically restrained to be removed from his cell, who did the Deputy Sheriff call for help? More deputies?
Actually no. In the video you’re about to see, the deputies called on someone who might seem the least likely candidate: gentle, soft-spoken, Christian Science Chaplain Sharon.
By bringing God into this situation, Chaplain Sharon changed everything. A tactic truly appreciated by everyone involved.

Thank you, Sharon, for the tremendous lesson you gave us!
Thank you for this wonderful story.
It reminds me of the Gadarenes’ man sitting at the feet of Jesus. “No power can withstand divine Love…” Thank you Sharon for sharing this very inspiring testimonial, and for being ready when the call came.
Moses was told by God, when he protested that he could not possibly tell Pharoh to free God’s people from bondage: “I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say” and Moses was obedient and led the enslaved people of Israel back home through the wilderness. You, Sharon, asked God what to say, you listened, you spoke, and his child was set free from anger and aggression and peacefully chose his own next best steps. Thank you for this vital lesson in “not my will, but thine be done.”
Just wonderful, Sharon. So grateful to learn of this experience of Love’s sweet control. And so very grateful for all the work being done by Christian Science Chaplains and Chaplains’ Assistants in the California institutions. And love seeing the reports on these videos.
Thank you Sharon for your sharing your beautiful experience. It touched me deeply. I am grateful. Much love to you.
What a wonderful example of listening to God, the one Mind, for direction in circumstances that might appear impossible to resolve peacefully — AND seeing the evidence of what happens when we humbly turn to God in prayer and listen for guidance. God certainly was bestowing His/Her blessing upon all concerned in this situation. Thank you, Sharon for your selfless work and devotion in bringing Christian Science into the prisons.
i have worked inside several prisons for a few years and found that this work became holy indeed, and every time I entered and left, I was exalted and uplifted to new views and awareness of our God within. Many healings took place in the classes, and the inmates acknowledged their gratitude for the works of Christ Jesus and the writings of
Mary Baker Eddy. His words do not pass away nor do the works of Mary Baker Eddy, author of Science and Health with ey to the Sriptures. My gratitude is unbounded. Nan
I just love how your peaceful, Christ-filled thought beheld the truth of this man’s calm, obedient nature. So encouraging for all of us!
Very, very nice!
This is so beautiful! These violent people are in bondage too, and loving your fellow man in true brotherhood and godliness is so important…🌟🌟🌟
Demonstrating Love reflecting Love!
Thank you Sharon for sharing
i am so grateful for the work that our chaplains are doing in our jails and prisons. I served on the L.A. County Institutions Committee for over 15 years when I lived in L.A. and I remember two important healings that took place during that time. It is amazing what the healing truth will do in dire circumstances. Thank you for sharing this story.
